Quote 1:
- Aristotle (philosopher, scientist, teacher)
Action — or the lack thereof — is the clearest mirror of what we stand for and what truly matters to us.
Show me your calendar, and I’ll tell you what’s important to you.
This one just hits the spot.
Take a moment now. No really — stop reading for a second and look at your calendar or to-do list for this week or month. Be honest with yourself. What are you spending the most time and energy on?
Now, put that next to your goals. Are they aligned? Are your actions moving you toward the person you want to become?
I’ll go first: Nope. My calendar isn’t as aligned with my goals as I’d like it to be.
(But hey, this stays between us 🤫😂…)
The beautiful thing about taking action, though, is that no matter how small the step, when we act proactively and consistently, we cast a vote for the kind of person we are or aspire to be.
Quote 2:
“To be great you have to add to your strengths, not replace them.”
- Chris Voss (author of the book Never Split the Difference)
This might sound a bit controversial to some, but hear me out. Growth is often found in the areas where we persist over a prolonged period. In that sense, time becomes essential for sustainable development.
At the same time, choosing where to invest your time plays a major role in the growth process. I believe each of us has interests and strengths that come more naturally to us than they do to others. There’s often more growth — and with it, a deeper sense of satisfaction — when we focus on the activities that align with our natural abilities.
So lean into what you're good at. Build on your strengths. Become exceptional at what you do.
Quote 3:
“The feeling of progress is one of the best feelings of all. This is true even when progress is small."
- James Clear (author, habit expert and speaker)
I think everyone can relate to this quote. It’s such a human experience to feel fulfilled and happy once we become aware of our own progress — no matter how small.
It’s like learning to play an instrument. You keep trying to master that one song you really love, playing it over and over again, driving your family members and neighbors crazy in the process. But then, after countless repetitions, comes that magical moment when you finally get the chord and rhythm just right. The song actually sounds the way it should. Joy washes over you. It’s like nothing else in the world…
It truly is one of the best feelings of all.
On a personal note — Speaking of making small, consistent progress toward my goals, I started using Duolingo about two years ago. And although I use it religiously (go check out my streak if you don’t believe me), I didn’t feel like I was making much progress in learning Italian at all.
That all changed one day when I was left alone with my girlfriend’s Italian-speaking parents to take them sightseeing in a foreign country. I don’t know how, but I started speaking it. Somehow, we talked all day long, and the sense of joy that took over me was out of this world.
I know it wasn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I felt like a kid bringing home an A from school. I was proud 😁.

This one is harsh haha
Take a moment today and look at your calendar honestly. What are you actually dedicating your life to?
Love you, Igor
