Quote 1:
“Fortune favors the prepared“
- Matt Mullenweg (innovative, visionary, entrepreneur. Founder of WordPress)
People can mostly be divided into two categories when it comes to how they believe success happens. One group thinks that everything in life is the result of our actions, making success solely our responsibility. The other believes that success is a matter of luck—you either have it or you don’t.
I don’t fully agree with either of these perspectives. The truth, I believe, lies somewhere in the middle.
Ultimately, we must do the work and prepare ourselves for whatever obstacles may come our way. At the same time, major breakthroughs are often linked to a moment or period that can easily be described as luck. But if you think about it, hard work alone won’t guarantee success if we’re swimming against the current—being in the wrong market, focusing on the wrong things, or wasting energy on insignificant issues. On the other hand, luck means nothing if we aren’t prepared to take advantage of it—or even worse, if we fail to recognize it when it comes.
So remember, luck and hard work go hand in hand. Don’t get emotionally attached to one or the other. Both exist, and that’s simply how the world works. Focus on laying the groundwork and go from there.
At the end of the day, fortune favors the prepared.
Quote 2:
“In life it’s a lot more about motion than it is direction.”
- Shaan Puri (entrepreneur, investor, and podcaster on "My First Million")
Everyone falls somewhere on a scale between being fully action-oriented and overly cautious. The first step, I believe, is recognizing where you are on that scale so you can decide how to adjust in alignment with where you want to be.
That said, if I had to choose where to be on this spectrum, I would definitely side with the quote—prioritizing motion over direction. Now, hear me out.
When you decide to move and take action, you gain something from it. If the outcome is good, great—you’re making progress. If the outcome is bad, you’ve learned something new. And in the absolute worst-case scenario, you now know which path not to take. On the other hand, sitting and endlessly analyzing options will never give you the real-world experience that comes from putting yourself out there.
So make the decision to move—and move now.
Quote 3:
"You want to be balanced or you want to be great?"
- Scott Galloway (entrepreneur, professor, author. Author of the books like The Four and The Algebra of Happiness)
Ahhh, Scott, Scott… I might be biased, coming from professional sports, but there's just something about the way ex-athletes talk that feels like music to my ears. And knowing that Scott Galloway also rowed in college… Extra points for him! 😉
The question is pretty straightforward—it's a classic Matrix moment: the blue pill or the red pill. The harsh truth? You can't have both. Balance and greatness rarely coexist. To reach the highest level in anything, sacrifices have to be made. That’s just part of the game. The only real question is: which one do you want more?

Apparently, this guy can be both balanced and great 😳😳🤯
If you could take just one action today to move closer to your goal, what would it be?
No overthinking. No waiting for the perfect moment. Just one step—no matter how small—that pushes you forward. Because in the end, progress isn’t about grand plans or perfect conditions. It’s about action. So, what’s it going to be?
Love you, Igor
